Community Choir Leadership Course

If you are interested in leading singing groups and choirs, or seeking to build your confidence in this area, this series of workshops will cover all the basics and much more.
Candy has been running community choir leadership trainings for 13 years. Many previous participants have gone on to make this their full time profession.
Sing, Yoik, Yap and Yammer on the Wild Atlantic Way
Improvise, explore your voice, and make your own digital instrument with Candy Verney, Rod Paton and Ed Devane

If you enjoy using your voice, and are up for some vocal adventures, then this weekend is for you. Sing, improvise, inspirational harmony songs. Make your own digital musical instrument. And seriously enjoy yourself!
Led by Candy Verney with guest teacher Rod Paton, and Ed Devane, unique instrument maker extraordinaire
Sing Friday evening and Saturday. We will be joined on Sunday by Ed Devane, who will guide us in making our own original musical instrument.
The weekend will culminate with a one off exploratory event in a special acoustic space nearby, using our voices as well as our instruments.
There’ll also be time to immerse yourself in the deep peace of Donegal’s stunningly beautiful landscape

I’m very excited to welcome Joseph Moras as my co-leader for the July singing holiday. Joseph found his way to the Song House 2 years ago, joined us again last year, and loves all that we do here.
He runs a singing school in Dubai, and he is also a trained sound healer. Every evening he will be leading us in a contemplative singing and chanting session. But the mornings will stay the same- learning a variety of songs, see below. Read More

Singing is Good For You – Research Shows
Singing is good for you, especially singing together- research shows.
There are so many reasons why we should all be singing. Research proves how beneficial singing is for us. Science says Singing is good for us.
“The neuroscience of singing shows that when we sing our neurotransmitters connect in new and different ways. It fires up the right temporal lobe of our brain, releasing endorphins that make us smarter, healthier, happier and more creative. When we sing with other people this effect is amplified.”
