Bealtaine at the Song House
April 30 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Ancient traditions for modern times
Hosted by The Song House and Jenny O’Hare
Bealtaine is one of the traditional fire festivals of the Celtic Wheel of the Year. Also known to many as Beltane, or even as May Day, it is a potent time of year when we mark the passage of Spring to Summer, and celebrate the harvest and abundance that we will soon welcome. Join us as we gather online in a warm space to honour the seasons and our place within them, bringing time honoured traditions to life for our modern days.
This online community session is a modern manifestation of ancient ways. Here at the Song House, we began this online iteration of seasonal marking and celebration at Samhain 2020. It has been a beautiful journey of flowing with the year, of finding resonance within and without, and of sharing with community.
Bealtaine is that point in the year when we welcome the light, the harvest, the more open and outward energies. We begin to celebrate what is all around and what is yet to come. Midway in the year from our Samhain beginnings, we now celebrate the lighter portion of the year in its diversity. For this online community event, we open a warm and welcoming space. You can expect traditional input on Bealtaine, practices for tuning into self and this time of year, and a celebration of the blossoming forth of life in the natural living world. Our event is rooted in gratitude to the natural world, and our own place within that world.. Contributions and sharings are welcome and actively encouraged!
There will be open space for sharing of story, song, poetry, readings….whatever it is that moves you to celebrate life at this time. All are welcome, whether to witness, to share or simply to be. Our community events have supported many people throughout the last 6 months, and we continue to honour the seasons and cycles, and find nourishment in doing so together.
We look forward to holding the flame again at this point in the wheel of the year. Join us 🙂
