A modern twist on a Raking tradition

Hosted by The Song House

Join us this January for an online Raking gathering. The Song House invites you to gather in the spirit of sharing a yarn, a song or whatever you’d like to bring along. You are welcome also to join us as an observer.

What is Raking?

In traditional Ireland there was once what was known as the Raking House. Today, in some rural communities the essence of this treasured house still exists. The raking house is like the hub of a community, known for its heart & feet warming fires and a place to share a yarn, to dance, sing, share and connect in the spirit of togetherness & good craic. Join us as the Song House becomes the digital Raking House and our community stretches far & wide with the good use of modern technology, supporting us to gather together from the comfort of our homes.
