Ecology – The Original Medicine

March 31 - April 3

€250 – €480

Being well with Nature in Mind, and Song in Heart

With Michaela Mc Daid

31st March – 3rd April 2022

Creating time and space for connection to nature, others and self. Quiet your mind, rest your body, and soothe your soul with ecotherapy and song in beautiful Donegal.

This three-day experience truly is a retreat and reset from the demands of modern living.
We will learn some of the fascinating theory of ecotherapy, and experience its importance in a small, supportive group. Invitations to engage in a way that is comfortable for you, with facilitated sessions guided by the seasons:

WINTER – Appreciating the colder, darker months as valuable time for rest. Our ‘Window on the World’ encourages reflection rather than rumination, and we explore the benefits of cold water therapy. Cold showers not compulsary!

SPRING – Clearing space for growth. Encouraging awareness of what we hold on to physically, mentally and emotionally. Finding ease in letting go of what no longer serves us with minimalism and ‘Morning Pages’.

SUMMER School is out, time to play! Reconnecting with our inner child by redisovering awe and wonder. Finding flow and playing oudoors, just for fun!

AUTUMN Hope as a skill that we can learn, keep nourishing and grow. Knowing our passion and purpose to always find hope.

The pace of sessions are intentionally slow, allowing plenty of time for both solitary space in peacful surroundings, and relaxed company, craic and laughter with felow participants.

Throughout the weekend we will also enjoy singing circles led by Candy Verney – founder of The Song House. As a form of communication, expression and connection, singing predates language. Rediscover the catharsis of singing like no-one is listening, and the beauty of simply singing together.

By Sunday you will feel reset and ‘all brand new’. As well as the experience of the weeked, you will have a ‘grounding’ in ecotherapy and realisitc, achievable ways of continuing to value nature and simplicity for wellness and health

Michaela Mc Daid

Michaela Mc Daid Eco Therapy Weekend at The Song House in Co. Donegal IrelandMichaela Mc Daid is best known in the North West as a mental health educator, devising and delivering wellness courses for countless groups over 25 years. Her interest has always been in empowering people to affect their own health and healing.
As a facilitator, Michaela openly draws on her own lived experience of mental health challenges and healing with nature to bring insight, empathy and wisdom to professional knowledge and skills.
Her flourishing ecotherapy practice is founded on education and experience. Education – why nature is good for us – satisfies the inquiring mind, while Experience – how nature is good for us – honours intuition with the opportunity to feel what is salve for the soul.
This approach is gentle and encouraging; meeting each participant, wherever they are, with respect. Michaela values holding space, bearing witness and compassionate, non- judgemental listening for the sake of hearing another human being, without analysis or expectation.
Michaela maintains that she is not the therapist – nature is!

Look out for Michaelas fascinating and insightful conversation on The Song House Podcast.
